WHAT
ARE EUROGAMES?
Eurogames, also referred to as Family Board Games, are a distinct
genre of Board Games that originated in Europe. In general
they are relatively simple to learn and are based around some
kind of definite theme, often historical in nature. Widely
popular in Europe they are slowly making their presence known
in other places.
Most Eurogames have similar characteristics. As a rule they
involve a high amount of player interaction, do not rely heavily
on luck, have simple, clever rules, game play is usually 1
to 2 hours, and thankfully the "roll-and-move" mechanic
of games like Monopoly is almost never seen.
